James Golden

James is Director at Quigg Golden and is a seasoned construction adjudicator, mediator, and party representative. He has over 30 years’ experience helping and representing employers, contractors, subcontractors and consultants throughout the UK, Ireland, as well as experience in Hong Kong and the Middle East. He has extremely strong practical and theoretical knowledge on all the standard forms of building contracts used in the UK and Ireland and has provided advice to central governments, local governments, and contracting organisations on contractual and disputed issues. He regularly acts as the dispute resolver in adjudication, conciliation and mediation, in addition to representing parties in all forms of ADR forums, including litigation and arbitration.

James is experienced in all aspects of dispute resolution and large-scale project management. He is a practising adjudicator: a member of a number of appointing body panels including the Institution of Civil Engineers, TeCSA and the ministerial panel in Ireland. He is also a training tutor on the NEC forms of contract for the Institution of Civil Engineers.

Patrick is an adjudicator, trainer and consultant specialising in NEC, JCT, IChemE, ACE and PFI contracts. He advises clients on disputes and contract issues in construction and engineering.  

He is a Chartered Civil Engineer, Chartered Surveyor, an Accredited Mediator and a Construction Adjudicator. Patrick is on the panels of 10 adjudicator nominating bodies. He is also on the ICE's Register of Mediators/Conciliators.

Claire Packman KC

Claire is an experienced commercial barrister with over 25 years of experience practising at 4 Pump Court and became a KC in 2021. She has an exceptional reputation in the fields of construction, engineering, professional negligence and international arbitration.

Claire’s practice is split between domestic work and large-scale international cases in the Middle East and elsewhere. Recent cases have involved airports, roads, hospitals, housing developments, shopping centres, government ministries, dredging and commercial property.

As a fluent Spanish speaker, she also has a keen interest in Spanish and Latin American arbitration. She is recommended in Legal 500 and Chambers & Partners for construction disputes, professional negligence work and international construction/engineering arbitrations.

Claire was formerly an elected SCL Council member. She is a contributing author of the Architect’s Handbook, LexisNexis online Adjudication KnowHow and is a former editor of the Adjudication Society newsletter.

Renato Nazzini

Professor Renato Nazzini is the Director of the Centre of Construction Law & Dispute Resolution at King’s College London and a Partner at LMS Legal LLP. He is an experienced arbitrator (chair, sole arbitrator, co-arbitrator and emergency arbitrator) and counsel in international arbitration with varied industry knowledge, not only in construction, oil and gas and infrastructure but also M&A, IT and digital, pharmaceuticals and distribution.

He is a dually qualified English solicitor and Italian advocate and has worked in arbitrations in Europe, Latin America, Africa, the Middle East, and Asia. He is a member of the ICC Arbitration and ADR Commission, Italy, a member of the ICC Task Force on Dealing with Corruption Issues in International Arbitration, a member of the Advisory Board of Africa Construction Law and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.

Renato has published seven books, including Construction Law in the 21st Century, Key Themes in International Construction Arbitration and Construction Arbitration and Alternative Dispute Resolution. He also authored more than 100 articles and book chapters on international arbitration and competition law and is general co-editor or member of the editorial board of four leading international journals as well as general editor of the Routledge Construction Law Series.

He has been visiting professor at the University of Turin, the University of Zurich, and FGV of San Paulo, Brazil. He holds a PhD from the University of London and a PhD from the University of Milan.

Nigel Davies

Nigel is a chartered quantity surveyor and solicitor-advocate with over 30 years of experience, holds an impressive array of qualifications, including multiple degrees in construction, law, and mechanical and electrical engineering. He is a Fellow of several prestigious institutions such as CICES, RICS, CIOB, and CIArb, and serves as a chartered arbitrator, adjudicator, and mediator. 

His career began as a quantity surveyor, working on a variety of projects across sectors like commercial offices, shopping centres, high-end residential developments, and rail infrastructure. This foundation led him to specialise in commercial and contractual management and construction law. 

Nigel has handled over 350 adjudications and resolved disputes ranging from minor claims to multi-million-pound issues. He is proficient in standard construction contracts (NEC, JCT, FIDIC, IChemE, etc.), and his expertise spans contract drafting, negotiation, and dispute resolution. He is also a committed educator, regularly delivering seminars and tailored training sessions. 

Nigel’s combined legal and construction expertise positions him as a highly versatile and innovative leader in his field.

Sandy Webster

Sandy Webster is a chartered civil engineer, project manager, and unregistered barrister. He has over 17 years of experience in the planning, design, procurement, construction, and management, of complex engineering and construction projects across the world.

Mr. Webster has been appointed as an NEC Supervisor expert on and independent certifier expert on two major hospital projects. He has also provided project management advice and expertise on disputes in the High Court for a mixed-use town centre development in the UK and Arbitration for an industrial complex in Scandinavia. Additionally, he has conducted delay analysis on multiple projects worth up to £2billion including highways, hotels, schools, theatre, office and exhibition buildings in the UK and internationally.

With practical experience ranging from rail, aviation, and tunnelling, to commercial and residential real estate, Mr. Webster has an extensive understanding of the project lifecycle across these sectors. He has held director level positions in project management consultancies, and senior positions in contracting organisations, where he managed the civil engineering division of a rail contractor with over 200 staff.

Alongside his passion for construction and engineering, Mr. Webster pursued qualifications in law to broaden his knowledge and understanding of dispute resolution. He is currently serving on the Institution of Civil Engineer’s dispute resolution committee.

Keith Miller

Keith N Miler is an Architect who started his academic career surrounded by civil and structural engineering students at Leeds University, studying Architectural Engineering. After gaining his degree, he moved over to Leeds School of Architecture to study Architecture.

Keith always enjoyed the more scientific and legal sides of Architecture, and eventually started undertaking Expert Witness work. That led to an interest in Arbitration, and he therefore trained at the College of Estate Management, and then the CIArb, to be a Chartered Arbitrator.

Seeing the rise in adjudication, Keith then trained to be an adjudicator with the ICE. He is on the RIBA Adjudication Panel.

Keith also trained with the CIArb to be a mediator.

Keith now practises through his own company, LEA Forensics.

When not working, Keith finds some time to sleep and dream about the endless possibilities of AI! He also loves spending time with his wife, his four children and 9 grandchildren.

Suryen Nullatamby

Suryen Nullatamby is an award winning lawyer specialising in construction law and dispute resolution. He sits as an adjudicator and arbitrator on various UK panels.  

Suryen is an expert practitioner who represents clients in a range of construction and engineering projects of varying size and complexity and dispute resolution, adjudication and arbitration. He acts for main contractors, sub-contractors, employers, construction professionals, public bodies and developers on both contentious and non-contentious matters and acts under both common law and civil codes.  

He has acted for parties in over 200 construction adjudications, 7 of which were reported at enforcement stage, on a range of disputes including payment, delay, defects design, final account claims and professional negligence claims. As a tribunal, he has completed over 90 arbitrations and adjudications on disputes up to £11 million in value.   

Suryen is a Fellow Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrator and has an MSc in Construction Law and Dispute Resolution at King’s College, London and a diploma in adjudication in the construction industry from the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.  

An architecture lover, he enjoys travelling and loves visiting new places of interest.
