Inactivity from prolonged sitting at work can negatively impact our mental and physical health. Although exercising outdoor might not be an option for everyone in times of pandemic, we can still maintain physically active at home.
ICE HKA G&S is honoured to have Ms ChauKei Ngai, the Director of YogaUP, to explain how stretching can address some of the problems associated with prolonged static posture. Ms Ngai will also guide us to do some at-home-stretching for the shoulder and back.
This therapeutic session is designed to relieve tension from the shoulder and neck, which focuses on the movement and stretching of different muscle groups to improve one’s flexibility. The routine is also designed to strengthen the back to relieve the pain and stress of the spine. Through a series of stretches and postures, participants can prevent injuries by bringing ones back into its optimal alignment. The relaxing stretching could also give the mind a mental break, allowing one to recharge and refresh the body, resulting in a calmer and more peaceful mindset.
Casual wear is recommended.

ChauKei is the founder and director of YogaUP. She is a certified holistic health counsellor. Her yoga discipline comes from Bikram Yoga, Ana Forrest Yoga, Yoga Therapy and Ayurvedic medicine.
ChauKei is a TEDx speaker in Shue Yan University with the topic of Undress Your Fear. She has been featured in VOGUE and Harpers Bazaar Magazine in China, being the first yogi appeared in high fashion magazine. She has also been seen on the cover of Shine magazine in Australia and Sport Soho in Hong Kong.
ChauKei has been teaching yoga worldwide since 2006. In 2013, she won the prestigious International Yoga Sports Federation Championship, the world's largest international yoga competition with participants from over 25 countries.
