About this event

The presentation describes:

How the Children's Corner coastal frontage, that is the focal point of Lowestoft's beach amenity, became subjected to exceptional erosion pressure during 2012 and 2013.

The process by which options for response were assessed, how constraints on funding availability influenced investment decisions, the works that were undertaken in two phases between 2014 and 2016, and how the impact upon the community of summer season construction work was managed.

Speaker: Paul Patterson, Senior Coastal Engineer, Coastal Partnership East.
