About this event

Macrete has solved Sea Defence challenges since 2008, on six major contracts totalling £27 million, by developing a range of durable and abrasion resistant concrete mixes, for both reinforced and unreinforced precast, which not only provides coastal protection but also serves as a public amenity.

Precast aesthetics has been advanced by re-thinking lifting anchor technology, including development of Macrete’s precast anchor recess ‘plug’, together with the evolution of new precast lifting techniques, and complimented by a variety of finishing methods to grey, white and pigmented concrete.

Macrete’s value engineering and transport logistics have included cargo shipping, rationalisation of precast shapes and weights, maximising road transport payloads, while minimising carbon footprints.

Please note that catering is from 17:30, with a lecture start at 18:15.
