About this event

Two events in one – a chance to find out about the Regional Education Team and ICE Ambassador scheme, plus an opportunity for members at any level prior to becoming chartered, i.e. apprentices/students and graduates, who wish to learn more about what working in civil engineering demands and how you can progress further while practicing.

Regional Education Team session

Both new and existing ICE Ambassadors can receive practical guidance and information about the activities of the Regional Education Team and take advantage of this valuable networking opportunity. The work of the team seeks to inspire young people of all ages about the opportunities for them in civil engineering and supports members to promote civil engineering careers in a professional, compelling and student-friendly way.

This first session will start with a short introduction to highlight the work of the team, followed by the opportunity to try some of the practical educational activities offered to schools. There will also be the opportunity to network with likeminded colleagues across the industry and hear existing Ambassadors share their experiences. Light refreshments will be served.

The event is open to all ICE Ambassador volunteers and potential Ambassadors - whether you have recently joined our team, are a regular team member, or are interested in reconnecting with the scheme and would like more information about what we do.

Career development presentations and networking

There will be short presentations about options with career progression, and attendees can get the opportunity to chat with practicing engineers directly. An ICE Membership Development Officer will also be available on the night to answer any questions you may have. In addition, there will be a quiz towards the end of the night.
