Overview

Join the ICE West Midlands Hereford and Worcester Branch (H&W) for an overview of the A417 missing link scheme and how this will improve road safety and connectivity, support the economy, ease congestion, and reduce air pollution.

The A417 scheme is a nationally significant road scheme that will upgrade the three-mile stretch of single carriageway (known as the Missing Link) between the Brockworth bypass and Cowley roundabout in Gloucestershire.

This scheme has just started construction and this presentation will give delegates the opportunity to learn from the project team to outline the design and challenges addressed during the development.

The speakers will include:

  • Gavin Jones, project director, Kier group
  • Daniel Harvey, group director, Tony Gee and Partners
  • Andrew Kenchington, group director, Tony Gee and Partners
  • Nathan Griffiths, associate, Tony Gee and Partners

The speakers will discuss some of the unique challenges associated with the scheme, such as a variety of structural types for the bridges with particular attention to aesthetic and environmental features.

This event is a great opportunity for those with an interest in national highways.
