The Thames Valley Early Careers Network (TV ECNet) is delighted to bring you the next event in our 2024 series of ‘Day in the Life’ talks.
Civil engineering careers can take many paths, and it can be difficult to know which is best for you – regardless of what stage you’re at in your career! Our ‘day in the life’ series aims to give an insight into the various options, including consultancy, contracting, client, academia and apprenticeships.
This session will focus on degree apprenticeships, a career path which is still relatively new in our industry, and we will be joined by three speakers who are all current or recently completed apprentices. Our panellists are:
- Jennifer Danaher – apprentice civil engineer
- James Lambeth – apprentice civil engineer
- Ruby Pope – site engineer
Together, they will be able to provide a rounded overview of what working as a degree apprentice can involve – and show that it can be possible to combine both work and study!
Each speaker will provide a short overview of their role, before opening the floor up to questions from the audience – so make sure to come prepared!
The series is aimed at all early careers members of the ICE, but students, apprentices, and recent graduates may get particular value from the session.
