University of Surrey

Alister graduated from the University of Surrey with an MEng degree in civil and environmental engineering in July 2024. At the beginning of his degree he joined the University of Surrey/ICE scholarship scheme and then spent two summers and a year in industry working for geotechnical specialist Bachy Soletanche.
Alister has been awarded the R M Davis Memorial prize for work of special merit during his placement and the Griffiths Scholar Award for contributions to the Surrey/ICE scholarship scheme. As a result of work completed during placement, he has been able to sign off all initial professional development attributes to knowledge level. Alister will be pursuing a PhD program at the University of Surrey following graduation.
BAM Nuttall

Ben Tipping is a civil engineering MEng final year student and a current University of Surrey | ICE Scholar with BAM Nuttall.
In completing two summer placements and a year-in-industry, he has gained experience as a site engineer in the rail sector, primarily working on a congestion relief scheme at London Victoria. Ben became an Engineering Technician member of the ICE in April this year and, due to his professional development, was awarded the Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences Professional Training Year Award 2024 by his university.
The webinar will talk about the attributes and qualifications for becoming a Fellow of ICE.
ICE Kolkata is hosting a series of online lectures on the procurement process, contract management, and the code of conduct in relation to ethics and compliance. The series will consist of three lecture sessions.
A useful five session course delivered by industry experts focussing on key aspects of finance in Civil Engineering.
