Overview
This year represents the 37th staging of the ICE Wales (South) regional golf day, returning to the excellent 6,200 yard par 72 course at Woodlake Park for the first time since 1996.
Set in 140 acres in one of the most beautiful areas of Gwent, the Woodlake Park course and clubhouse overlooks the spectacular Llandegfedd reservoir, an area of outstanding natural beauty, the Brecon Beacons, Black Mountains and the Vale of Usk.
Laid out on naturally undulating landscape, the course offers a challenge to golfers of all abilities. Opened in 1993, the course has matured into one of the finest inland courses in Wales and has attained a reputation as a quality venue with the greens in particular renowned for their trueness and speed. As a result it regularly hosts many National, County and regional PGA events.
The day consists of a welcome tea/coffee and bacon roll, a round of competitive golf and an optional after match meal.
The golf day will be a Stableford Competition played off full handicap (maximum 24 shots). The day is open to players of all standards and no formal handicap required to participate.
Players finishing in the top four places will be selected to represent the Wales region in the annual National Thomas Telford Trophy which in 2024 is to be hosted by the Wales region over the Wales National course at Vale Resort on 3rd/4th September. All playing ICE members of any grade are eligible for selection subject to holding a valid handicap certificate.
ICE Members are encouraged to invite professional colleagues and friends as guests for the day. There will be a separate guest competition.
Fees:
£45 per player* (including a £5 contribution to the prize fund)
*fee reductions apply to existing Woodlake Park members
