Overview

The BGA will be organising its popular, full-day event at One Great George Street in its natural place in the calendar this year, assuming Covid 19 is not overly prevalent. The Conference is free and open to all but places to attend in-person will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis and must be booked in advance. All lectures are expected to be delivered live and the content will be broadcast live as well.

An interesting morning programme is being developed, themed around instrumentation and monitoring. The presentations vary from contractual issues, monitoring in the industry and the application of satellite technology to earthworks The programme then explores big projects within the industry such as hydro pumped storage and geological waste.

The AGM and prize giving will follow lunch.

In the afternoon our young geotechnical engineers will present their winning work from the Cooling and the Dissertation Prizes. Finally, the University of Southampton will update us on the Achilles Project and Dundee University on the numerical modelling research work. The conference will include the latest news from the Ground Forum, the Temporary Works Forum and the AGS.

To round off the conference, delegates are invited to a networking event in the Great Hall provided by our Gold Sponsors.
