A talk showing that there are different routes to a successful career. The webinar aims to inspire more people who have taken a non-traditional educational and career path into civil engineering.Summary
There are many routes into a career in civil engineering and Michelle will talk about her pathway which is a little bit more unusual than some!
She will talk through the skills she gained from the roles she has had over the last 18 years as well as her educational background and points of personal growth.
Her career spans from working in museums in a public facing role, to being a government policy writer, to her current role as Assistant Design Manager at Morgan Sindall Infrastructure.
Through perseverance she has developed from an 'unskilled' role to becoming a specialist in the field of sustainable drainage, advising Welsh Government and achieving a number of industry awards.
Michelle is passionate about showing that there are different routes to a successful career and hopes to inspire more people who have taken a non-traditional educational and career path into civil engineering. She also wants to show that civil engineering and the construction industry are exciting places for women to work.
