Anusha Shah

Anusha is Senior Director for Resilient Cities at Arcadis. She is also a Royal Academy of Engineering Visiting Professor at King’s College London on Climate Adaptation, Sustainability, and Inclusive Design.

A Fellow with the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE), Anusha is also a Non-Executive Director at the Met Office, UK. She has specialisation in Water & Environmental Engineering with over 20 years’ experience in designing, managing and leading projects and programmes both in the UK and internationally.

She has worked with the government, NGOs, consultants, contractors, regulator, and utility companies, and has led various multi-disciplinary and cross-cultural projects on Water, Environment, Flood Risk Management, Mining and Rail.

Anusha is an External Examiner at Leeds Beckett University, an Honorary Professor at University of Wolverhampton, and a Visiting Professor at University of Edinburgh. She is also Past Chair of the Thames Estuary Partnership Board, a charity working towards sustainable management of the Thames Estuary.

Anusha is a member of the ICE Fairness, Inclusion and Respect Panel and was the Co-Chair of ICE London and South-East Diversity Task Force.

She was the youngest and first female Chair of the ICE - London Region in 2010, General Council Member and Trustee of the ICE for two consecutive terms, Non-Executive Director- Thomas Telford Board, Member- ICE Executive Board, Member-ICE Research & Development Panel and Member- ICE Qualifications Panel.

She sits on various industry NetZero groups and represents Arcadis at the London Climate Change Partnership and 50L Home Initiative of the World Business Council for Sustainable Development.

A recipient of several awards including 2020 - Top 50 UK Women Engineers Sustainability Award and CECA FIR Inspiring Engineers Award 2019, Anusha is regularly invited to panel discussions and for delivering keynote speeches at various high profile industry events. Anusha was recognized by Climate Reframe as one of the UK’s leading BAME voices on climate change.

James Crompton

James is the Strategic Pipeline Alliance (SPA) Director for Anglian Water. SPA is Anglian Waters latest Enterprise, predominately established to deliver the business’ Water Resources Management Plan (WRMP). James has over 25 years’ experience in the delivery of infrastructure investment projects and programmes of work. The last 12 years have been spent working in collaborative alliancing environments where teams are highly integrated and rewarded for out-performance and delivery of outcomes.

James is also a keen advocate and adopter of Project 13 and represents Anglian Water SPA on the P13 Steering Group. In addition, James chairs the P13 Water Hub

David Seaton

David is a chartered civil engineer and environmentalist with 35 years’ experience in the construction industry working for contractor, consultant and client organisations. He has worked on a wide variety of infrastructure projects in the UK including water, wastewater, marine, nuclear, transportation and renewable energy projects.

His work over the past 20 years has been mainly focused on project and design management and sustainability. He is a Chartered Project Professional with the Association for Project Management and he sits on the Advisory Board for the Westminster Sustainability Business Forum.

Since joining BAS in 2015 his role has been to lead the team managing the design and construction delivery of the Antarctic Infrastructure Modernisation Programme. This has included to date the successful delivery of Rothera Wharf (£40M), KEP Wharf (£11M), Bird Island (£4.5M) and the design and first three seasons of construction for the new Rothera Discovery Building and Site Wide Services (£100M). He is leading the project management teams for the AIMP Phase 2 construction infrastructure projects, which currently include Rothera Hangar and Runway upgrades, and the decarbonisation of Rothera.

David is the lead contract manager for the Technical Advisor (£60M) and Construction Partner (£500M) framework contracts.

Simon Scott

Simon Scott has over 30 years’ experience in technical transformational leadership within transportation industries; covering a wide range of systems including signalling, telecommunications, power, civils, hyperloops, and rail vehicles.

Simon is Engineering Director for East West Railway (EWR), a government organisation set up to develop, build and operate a new link between Oxford and Cambridge. Simon leads the solution development of this transformative railway.

Prior to EWR Simon worked for KBR and PA Consulting in the hyperloop market, advising clients and leading teams to turn hyperloop into a reality, from private financing and funding, through to regulation & systems engineering.

Simon was the Chief Architect on Network Rail’s Digital Railway Programme at its inception, working collaboratively with the industry to identify the benefits of digitalising the UK railway network. Prior to that he was Engineering Director for Network Rail. His role was to lead collaboratively the engineering community of Network Rail, in developing and assuring the Network Rail Infrastructure systems.

Roger Bailey

Roger joined the Thames Tideway Tunnel project in February 2012. He is a Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers and has held board level positions in both contracting businesses and engineering and planning consultancies prior to joining the project. The first 20 years of his career was in the geotechnical contracting sector (mining, piling and ground engineering) in the UK and overseas followed by over 10 years in transportation consultancy (highways, rail, aviation) for clients such as Crossrail, Network Rail, TfL, Highways Agency, and the Department for Transport. Roger’s Completion & Handover Team at Tideway is responsible for technical oversight, property and commercial agreements, compliance with planning permission, system commissioning and the operational integration of the completed Thames Tideway Tunnel asset into the existing London sewer network.
