Overview

With over 5 years of planning the reconstruction of Barmouth Viaduct was completed within a 12week track closure and included travelling 200t of new bridge and temporary works over half a mile along the track, twice!

The demolition of the existing and reconstruction of the new was carried out in a unique manner with complex temporary works and methodology, some of which was untried on Network Rail infrastructure.

The scheme required the replacement of over 400t of steel and included over 150t of temporary steelwork.

This presentation will explain how this was successfully trialled and carried out.
