To truly enjoy the benefits of BIM and achieve greater efficiencies and time/cost savings, we need to challenge embedded procurement practices and consider new processes.

This webinar, organised by ICE in association with the Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy, will explore three procurement models recommended for large infrastructure projects.

Providing guidance for clients, designers and contractors, delegates at the webinar will hear from procurement experts discussing:

  • Pros and cons of procurement models recommended in the 2016 Government Construction Strategy
  • What to look for when selecting a procurement model
  • How to transfer design and construction risk away from the client
  • How to obtain early enough BIM contributions from the contractors
  • Who should take a lead role in managing the common data environment

Speakers will share their views, debate common challenges and possible solutions, and answer questions from the online audience.

  • Alain Waha, Global BIM lead & Digital transformation, Buro Happold Engineering
  • Rob Driscoll, Director of Legal and Commercial | Solicitor, Building Engineering Services Association
  • Simon Dickinson, BIM Consultant, Environment Agency

  • Nathan Baker, Director of Engineering Knowledge, ICE
