Overview
Bethan Wicks
Project Director, The Wales Way
Bethan will be talking about The Wales Way - an exciting new pan Wales project lead by Visit Wales. This is a ten year cross cutting commitment by Welsh Government to establish a world class national tourism route for Wales.
A key element of her role is to ensure that the marketing promise is delivered on the ground through all the physical touch points of the Wales Way and that a sustainable tourism travel network is realised by connecting road, bike, bus and rail travel.
Hannah Osman
Refill Cymru Coordinator
The Refill Campaign wants to disrupt the current social norm that we need to buy bottled water when ‘drinking on the go’ and make it normal and easy for people to carry a reusable bottle and refill for free when out & about. The objective of Refill is to stop millions of plastic bottles at source each year and prevent plastic pollution by making reusing a bottle simpler than buying a new one.
Jon Davies
Head of the 60-strong Ecology team at Arcadis UK
Jon will be talking about the need for environmental assessment, mitigation, enhancement and ecological monitoring whenever a new scheme is proposed and implemented. He will talk about the A40 Penblewin to Slebech Park improvement in Pembrokeshire, as well as other major schemes in which he is, or has been, recently involved, and specifically about the benefits of working with the local Wildlife Trust to manage mitigation areas to optimise biodiversity.
Lunch will be provided at 12 and the talk will start at 12.30.
