Jonathan Oates - Decarbonising Wales
In 2016, the Environment Wales Act placed a duty on Welsh Ministers to decarbonise the Welsh economy by 2050. This included a requirement to set a series of interim targets and carbon budgets, with five yearly plans setting the policies to achieve the required pathway. Welsh Government will, in March 2019, publish its first action plan. The presentation will explore the progress made to date and set out both the challenges and opportunities for Wales in transitioning to a low carbon economy and the implications for infrastructure, including the built environment.

Jennifer Kelly - Addressing the Operational Carbon Emissions of Assets
Jennifer Kelly will address carbon emissions associated with operating assets, such as buildings, fleets and infrastructure, will be a critical element of meeting ambitions to decarbonise. The presentation will look at how the nature and operation of assets can be addressed to reduce carbon emissions. It will explore case studies to understand best practice and the opportunities for collaboration to accelerate decarbonisation.
