Overview
Depressurisation is one of the available options for the management and groundwater control of alluvial deposits in tunnelling or shaft excavation. It forms a part of temporary works related to pore pressure control and moisture content reduction by consolidation.
Meeting the challenge of depressurisation involves careful consideration of the level of complexity involved. An effective approach requires close co-operation between client, consultant and specialist dewatering sub-contractor.
