Overview

An examination and study of how Dover Marina Pier was formed in precast units, including an analysis of how the precast units were evolved to provide a safe buildable marine structure, which also acts a breakwater for the new marina.

All aspects of the precast scheme will be discussed including precast development, modular manufacture, precast handling, trial builds, heavy/abnormal haulage to Belfast Harbour, stevedoring at York dock, and delivery by chartered cargo shipment to Dover port. Additionally, the unloading, barge storage and installation of the precast elements at Dover Marina Pier as undertaken by Volkerstevin will also be reviewed.

Refreshments available from 5.30pm, meeting begins at 6.15pm.
