Overview
Engineers influence the use and disposal of water both as individuals and as professionals. They conceive solutions to clients’ problems, design and specify the components, and in so doing, determine the carbon footprint of their solution, in most cases for many years. Change has to start now with civil engineering infrastructure if the carbon targets for 2030 and 2050 are to be met.
Dr Jean Venables will talk about how can we achieve carbon zero in the management of water and explore how engineers can contribute to reducing both capital and operational carbon.
This online event is hosted by ICE South West's Dorchester City Club.
