Overview

A broad overview will be covered on good practice associated with the design, construction and operation of temporary site roads & working platforms.

Tensar has extensive experience spanning over 40 years in providing temporary access for heavy duty construction plant over some of the most challenging ground conditions likely to be encountered in the UK. The application in sensitive environments such as remote onshore wind farms, cabling haul roads across long stretches of greenfield land connecting offshore wind power, as well working over contaminated brownfield sites, has facilitated the reduced excavation and subsequent import of quarried fill to limit environmental impact.

The webinar will include checklist on good practice associated with design, construction and operation as outlined below:

  • Understanding the ground
  • Dynamic and Static loading
  • Construction materials
  • Performance testing
  • Geometry considerations

A summary of local project case studies will also be covered including Beverley Sewage Treatment Works which was the first UK application of Tensar FEA based T-Working Platform design method.
