At this Hazards Forum/ICE event, we invite speakers who can provide real insight and allow us to question where built environment professionals go from here. What do we now know? What do we now need to do? And, how do we go about doing it?
Dame Judith Hackitt will present the findings of the Independent Review of Building Regulations and Fire Safety. Dame Judith's talk will be followed by Angus Law, Lecturer in fire engineering at the University of Edinburgh, who will discuss what has been learned, whether there are beliefs that have now been broken, and what is the on-going journey?
Our third speaker will be Dr Steven Flynn, who will discuss how the offshore industry responded in the wake of the Piper Alpha tragedy, discussing what was the impact on businesses when the regulation in their sector was introduce; What has been the impact of regulation to the industry; and, what should the construction industry (and built asset management industry) be ready for?
This event forms part of ICE's Professionalism & Skills learning campaign.
