Butterley Spillway is located in the Wessenden Valley, West Yorkshire and is the only Grade II listed spillway in the UK. Following a masonry failure in 2002 the condition and capacity of the spillway were reviewed highlighting significant works were required. This presentation will cover all aspects of the project from initial investigation to delivery focusing on the challenges faced by the team.

The project received the Smeaton Award, for projects greater than £500k but less than £5m, at this year's ICE Yorkshire and Humber Awards.
