Overview
The talk will cover the development of legislation in the UK and a number of the failures that have occurred. The talk will bring the listener right up to date with the changes in legislation that resulted from Sir Michael Pitt's review but will also highlight that incidents, accidents and failures are still occurring. The ways in which major companies are investing to prevent failure will be outlined but again the problems of small privately owned dams and of succession planning and training will be discussed.
