Overview
SSE’s Tievenameenta Wind Farm will provide up to a further 34.5MW of renewable energy to the electricity grid from 15 operational wind turbines with maximum height of 110m above ground.
The presentation will provide an outline of renewable electricity generation in NI and how the project has been delivered through the development, design and construction phases. Over 7km of new stone tracks, including across areas of deep peat, provide access to hardstands and the wind turbines supported on reinforced concrete foundations. A electrical sub-station provides the connection between the site electric circuit and the grid.
Design and construction of the 16.75m diameter turbine foundations will be outlined, including additional aspects not required in other types of foundations.
