Overview
The physical health and well-being of people working in the construction industry is an area of focus for the entire sector. There is, however, a tangible and increasing concern around mental health. The construction industry lifestyle can be challenging and stressful and it is now being more widely recognised that work-related stress and mental health issues can be even higher in the construction industry.
Louise Hetherington (Structural Engineering) and Hannah Schaapkens (Electrical Engineering) from Constructing Mindsets will conduct a session on "Managing your mental health during Covid-19". The main topics covered in the talk will be around coping with change, managing your well-being and discussions around being furlough.
The speakers will host a 20-minute session followed by Q&A to answer any more specific questions around mental health and wellbeing during Covid-19.
‘Constructing Mindsets’ is a platform to discuss how to talk about and deal with mental health in the construction industry. Constructing Mindsets provides a place to share experiences, listen to others and create a movement for change around mental health.
