The pandemic has dominated the world news over the last ten months and has put the topic of climate change a bit more to the background. This doesn’t mean the necessity of fighting climate change has become less important. In Europe, the offshore wind market has been expanding more rapidly than ever over the past years; China and Taiwan are following closely. With President Biden having rejoined the Paris climate agreement, the road for offshore wind in the US lies open.

Wind farms are moving to deeper locations and capacity of turbines is becoming larger. This means the design of the turbine components needs to be improved at a rapid pace. The larger and heavier foundations and turbines also drive the investments in larger installation vessels and the need in developing different, more efficient installation methods.

This event will provide insights in offshore wind farm siting, the section of the renewables market and the growth potential in the world. The speakers will also turn their attention to different design aspects and installation methods from the contractor’s perspective.
