Overview

Cwmni Egino was set up by the Welsh Government in 2021 to explore socio-economic growth opportunities from new nuclear development in North Wales, with a focus initially on the potential for small scale nuclear at Trawsfynydd.

There have been many positive policy developments at UK level since then and encouraging prospects for significant investment in new nuclear over the next decade. This potentially paves the way towards a huge opportunity for North Wales to benefit from the UK new nuclear programme.

Elliw will provide an update on Cwmni Egino, the proposals for Trawsfynydd and the broader implications of potential nuclear developments for the region – including what needs to happen next for us to seize the opportunity.
