Overview
This London Underground (LU) upgrade project will improve the capacity of Bank station, and reduce journey times and congestion on the Northern line, Central line, DLR and interchange areas within the Bank – Monument station complex.
LU awarded the Design and Build contract to Dragados in July 2013 following an ICE (Innovative Contractor Engagement) tender process.
The design phase is now nearing completion and construction has started, with advance works currently taking place in the existing station and utility relocation works at Arthur Street.
This presentation will address:
- The detailed design of the proposed tunnels and shafts (approximately 1300 meters of Sprayed Concrete Lining and squareworks structures), and
- The impact the construction is expected to have on the existing station structures, installed between 25 and 132 years ago.
