Overview
The Fukushima disaster narrowly avoided dwarfing the Chernobyl disaster. This talk tells the story of the disaster as it unfolded, illustrating how the heroic efforts of the teams on site, together with international assistance from across the world, narrowly avoided the situation spiralling out of control.
It shows how complex organisations develop ‘blind spots’ and will discuss the potential for inevitable nuclear accidents to have far-reaching, long-term consequences.
