Overview
The Ellerslie Crescent Project led by CCG Scotland Ltd. in Yoker, West Glasgow is the Tallest Timber Building in Scotland at 7 storeys tall.
This is a mid-market rent residential building with 42 flats, mostly 2-bedrooms constructed in 2016 and 2017. The entire superstructure is made from Cross Laminated Timber (CLT) including the lift shaft and communal staircase areas. The talk will kick-off with an introduction to the UK market relevant to the need for CLT, leading onto a simulation-based occupational health and safety analysis of the CLT panels and connectors installation.
The event will conclude with a look into the full extents of construction operations on the project. There will be plenty of opportunities to ask questions and have a discussion with fellow ICE members.
'Research project funded by Construction Scotland Innovation Centre https://www.cs-ic.org/. Includes research conducted by University of Glasgow, Edinburgh Napier University and the University of Alberta'
