Overview
Rab Laverty (Graham) and Ciara Doherty (H&J Martin Construction) will present their challenges and learnings as Civil Engineers volunteering in Africa.
Rab and Ciara joined 8 other ICE Members from NI who travelled to Rwanda in May 2018 to construct a 46m suspension bridge for the charity Bridges to Prosperity (B2P).
The 10 strong ICE team supported by the B2P charity and local work force, successfully completed the project in 2 weeks providing lasting infrastructure to serve a community of up to 6,000 people.
On behalf of the team, Rab & Ciara will relive their experiences and will discuss the positive impact the trip had on their lives professionally and personally.
