About this event

Do you have a natural curiosity for how things work? Want to know more about how engineering is integrated into our daily lives? Or perhaps you just like to gain an insight into new and interesting ideas? Then Pitch 200 is for you.

To celebrate the Year of Engineering and the 200 year anniversary of the Institution of Civil Engineers, we're putting engineers to the test their creativity to explain an idea, concept or project related to civil engineering in 200 seconds!

Hosted by TV Presenter Rob Bell, you’re invited to the Pitch 200 Grand Final at the ICE’s headquarters, to see how talented engineers from around the world showcase their work in the most curious and unconventional way.

You will have the chance to submit questions via sli.do during the presentation to be put forward to the speaker to each of the finalists about the presentation and their engineering topic.

The winner on the evening will need to impress not only you – but by our panel of judges:

  • Dr Hayaatun Sillem, CEO of the Royal Academy of Engineering
  • Dr Marty Jopson, Inventor and Reporter for the BBC's The ONE Show
  • Stephen Metcalfe MP, HM Government Envoy for Year of Engineering

Entry is free but booking is required, so do join us at 6.30pm at One Great George Street on Monday 26 November and have your eyes opened by the world of engineering.
