Pitch 200 2018

About this event

Pitch 200 is an opportunity for members to show off their communication skills, creativity and general enthusiasm for engineering by showcasing a civil engineering concept or project in a 200 second presentation. For ICE Graduate members, the skills developed can then be incorporated into your IPD records and assist them with their Professional Review process. For qualified members, this is an opportunity to showcase their work, ideas or passions to all – and encourage others. We would encourage you to make your entry as weird, wacky and wonderful as possible, using everything at their disposal – props are actively encouraged!

Last year’s Wales finalist was Benji Poulton, who presented a proposal for a new bridge design over the Menai Strait based on the legend of the Mabinogion. Benji won national acclaim for his work and the plans are now being considered alongside other proposals by the Welsh Government.

To enter, you need to submit a short (50-word maximum) summary of your presentation to [email protected] by 5pm on Friday 16 August 2019.

The winner from the Wales heat will go through to the international final, which will be in Belfast on 22 October 2019. The overall winner will become the ICE Communication Ambassador for 2020.

All members and the public are encouraged to attend this free event.

Please book online to secure your place at this event if you are attending to give a presentation or simply coming along to watch. Booking is strictly required due to the capacity of the venue. You will receive a voucher code via email for a free burger when you book your place online.
