Overview
Overview of the Highways England project to upgrade the A428 between A1/A421 Black Cat Junction and A428/A1198 Caxton Gibbet Junction to high quality dual carriageway. Construction will include 19km of new Dual Carriageway, and Grade separated junctions.
John Akester, Skanska Stakeholder and Community Engagement Manger will give a summary of the scheme, the benefits to the local community and the travelling public in Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire.
Ben Elphick, Skanska Construction Manager will talk will the project and how it is being implemented with an emphasis on the various structures being constructed. There are over 30 new structures being built by the scheme including new road bridges, the bridge over the East Coast Mainline railway, bridleway culverts & footbridges, and culverts and drainage pipes.
Ben will be assisted by a number of engineers and apprentices from his team
This event is a briefing at the National Highways / Skanska A428 Scheme site compound at Wintringham and does not include a visit onto the construction areas.

There are limited spaces available for this event so booking is essential. Once fully booked a waitlist will be in place. There could be opportunity for future meetings on this project and those on the waitlist will initially be offered the opportunity of any future visit.
