Jonathan Ly

Jonathan is director of structures at Canary Wharf Group and is a chartered engineer, a fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers and the Institution of Structural Engineers. He has over 29 years’ experience in the construction industry and is responsible for overseeing the design and construction of Canary Wharf Group’s projects. He has been able to put his exceptional skillset gained from previously working as both structural consultant and as the principal contractor to great effect with CWG as the developer. He leads and draws out the best practice in terms of efficiency, effectiveness, buildability, and safety and have successfully delivered complex multi-phased developments.

He is passionate about sustainability and has been proactive in initiating and implementing innovative processes to help decarbonise construction and has been an advocate for open collaboration between consultants, contractors, material suppliers and other key stakeholders to take practical and proactive steps towards net zero carbon and circular economy.

Ebrahim Dawood Akhoon is a data scientist at Inclusive Energy Ltd, with a background in physics. He works on renewable energy monitoring for IoT-connected biodigester and solar systems across the Global South. At Inclusive Energy, he applies AI and machine learning to sensor data to detect venting, faults, and inefficiencies—helping make sustainable technologies more accountable, ethical, and accessible. He is particularly interested in decentralised systems and AI ethics, and how data-driven tools can empower under-resourced communities in the transition to cleaner, smarter energy.

Dr Alex Finlayson

Dr Alex Finlayson is Rail Professional and Systems Thinker with over 30 years of global experience working at C-Suite level through to boots on the ground for infrastructure owners and operators, UK TOC's, UK ROSCO's as well as working in consultancy on behalf of the UK Department for Transport. Alex is currently working in the digital transformation space, delivering transformation in the digital railway for major programmes as well as adding to his numerous accolades by pursuing MSc in Computer Science with Artificial Intelligence in his spare time.
