Overview

The ICE Local Chapter Bengaluru invites you to an in-person event on ‘Future technical leadership in the modern age,’ featuring experts Ernie Crawford CEng MICE FCIHT and Kate Attwood CEng FICE.

Drawing from their extensive international careers, the speakers will explore the evolution of technical leadership, the changes that have occurred, and how an agile approach founded on the chartered engineering attributes is necessary to stay relevant in the future.

The session will take a look at why we do what we do with reference to the UNSDG's, some of the changes that have occurred since the 1990's, and what remains relevant in today’s modern age when it comes to providing Technical Leadership now and into the future. In particular, the presentation will touch on some key aspects such as creating the right people environment and culture, knowledge management, and inspiring innovation.

Ernie Crawford

Ernie Crawford, BEng (Hons), FCIHT, MICE, is a highly accomplished International Chartered Civil Engineer with over 32 years of experience in major Highways and Transportation projects. He has expertise in design, project/design management, and delivery. Ernie has led significant projects in the Middle East, including the award-winning Dubai Water Canal and the ITS2020 project.

In the UK and Ireland, he has delivered major motorways and dual carriageway projects, led a PPP Services Areas contract, and directed a road research framework. Currently, Ernie leads a team of over 800 people, driving technical excellence through Lean and continual improvement, and innovative technology integration. He is dedicated to upskilling his team and fostering collaboration, focusing on knowledge management, digital innovation, and sustainability.
