Overview
Join the ICE Early Careers Network West Midlands for a kayaking experience taster session learning how to kayak on Birmingham’s canals, right outside of the Roundhouse.
This is an exciting event that provides participants with the opportunity to explore and experience the thrill of the sport. This session will introduce attendees to the basics of kayaking, including proper techniques, safety guidelines, and equipment usage. This event is perfect for both beginners and those with experience who want to enhance their skills.
During the session, participants will have the chance to enjoy the beautiful surroundings as they paddle along the Birmingham canals. The event will be conducted in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, allowing participants to connect and share their experiences.
Regardless of previous experience, soon you will be paddling past:
- Birmingham Utilita Arena
- Birmingham Sea Life Centre
- Brindley Place
- The International Convention Centre
- Sherborne Wharf
What is included:
- You’ll visit the most recognisable sights of the canal system.
- 60 minutes on the water, this tour is more suitable for those looking to see Birmingham from the water.
- Expert advice, full training, and safety briefing from your fully qualified instructor.
- All kayaks, paddles and safety equipment are provided.
- Free downloadable photos of your experience.
What should I wear? Gym-style clothing is best because these won’t hold any water when wet. Everyone must wear footwear; old trainers, crocs or flip flops.
Please note a £10 entry fee is required per person on arrival at 17:45 hours.
