Overview
The ICE Yorkshire and Humber Early Careers Network (ICE Y&H ECN) represents graduates, students, technicians, and apprentices based across Yorkshire and Humber. This includes those in higher education and/or working towards getting professionally qualified.
Instead of our monthly meeting, the ECN have been invited to visit AmcoGiffen’s Magna Tram Station, Rotherham to enjoy a presentation about the works and a site tour.
The project is to construct a new tram train station on the WME line outside Magna Science Adventure Centre in Rotherham. The scheme is being funded by South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority (SYMCA) with the scheme being delivered on their behalf by Network Rail (NR).
As part of the national ‘Access for All’ (AfA) scheme, it is proposed to install compliant step free access from Magna car park to each platform. This will be achieved with the installation of a link bridge between platforms with passenger lifts on both platforms as well as a ramped entrance to the station from the car park.

Parking
Please park within the main Magna car park. If you struggle to find parking or have any enquiries on the day please contact Amy Stevenson (contact details will be provided after booking). Due to the nature of this site visit, there are limited spaces.
Our meetings are an excellent opportunity to meet local like-minded graduates, students, apprentices, and technicians within the ICE. They also provide a great environment for support and advice no matter what stage you are in your career. We always welcome new members along and look forward to hearing new ideas.
