The Shannon Bridge crossing is a key element of the Killaloe Bypass, being constructed by John Sisk & Son Ltd for Client Clare County Council. This entails the construction of a new 6 span steel bridge across the River Shannon.
The site team faced significant challenges in constructing the new bridge. This webinar focuses on one of the key challenges; namely, the placement of the 45 tonne steel trusses that form the main structure of the bridge.
The solution developed by the contractor required a crawler crane to work at an operating reach close to 100 metres. Excellent collaboration between the John Sisk site team supported by John Sisk in-house Engineering Services ensured a successful project.
