Overview

A presentation on the delivery of Levenmouth Rail project, by Sean Clemie CEng MICE (Story Contracting Ltd), Martin McKinlay CEng MICE (Network Rail) and Craig Macfarlane CEng MICE (AtkinsRéalis). 

The presentation will give an overview of the £117m project to reinstate the railway line from Thornton Jct to Leven, including the key challenges and success of the project. This will also give an insight into the Project 13 enterprise model used for delivery from the perspective of the client, contractor and designer.

Craig is a Client Director in AtkinsRéalis’ Rail and Transit Business and looks after the Scotland and Northern Ireland portfolios. Craig is also House Leader for the AtkinsRéalis Glasgow Office at 2 Atlantic Square which is home to circa 660 staff.
Craig is a Chartered Civil Engineer with over 22years experience in the Rail Industry working on multi-disciplinary projects. He has extensive experience as a Civils Design CRE and CEM on all stages of multi-disciplinary schemes including numerous level crossing upgrades and stations. He has been involved in the design, management, delivery and supervision of several large projects and line re-openings including:
•    Larkhall – Milngavie Line Re-opening
•    Borders Railway
•    Levenmouth Rail Link
Craig was Stations Lead on the Levenmouth Rail link and was responsible for the delivery and integration of the design of the two new stations on the line.
