Overview
Join the ICE East Midlands Lincolnshire branch and IHE for a technical presentation sharing fascinating insight into the history and maintenance of the Dunham Toll Bridge, which spans the River Trent, linking Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire.
The bridge was established in the 1830s, when a group of businessmen organised the original four span cast-iron construction, by civil engineer George Leather. The structure was rebuilt on its original piers in 1977-79 to new trunk road standards and a toll road was opened in 1994.
This promises to be an engaging and informative evening.
