Overview

The event focuses on sustainability challenges faced by structural engineers, including multi-disciplinary issues.

The presentation will cover projects that Webb Yates Engineers have achieved sustainability using sustainable construction materials and the design process of using sustainable materials.

The presentation will address the variety of sustainability resources including steel, timber and stone.

Additionally, the hybrid design approaches when using multiple materials.

The event is open to students, graduates, technicians and apprentice members of the ICE.

Liam Bryant

Liam graduated from the University of Bath in 2014 with a degree in Civil and Architectural Engineering. He joined Atkins as a graduate, getting his ICE and IStructE Chartership.

Liam joined Webb Yates Engineers in 2019. Since this time, he has worked on a wide variety of projects across the UK and abroad, delivering numerous innovative low-carbon structures.

In addition to his project work, Liam is part of Webb Yates Engineers’ stone design steering group, with experience across a number of typologies of structural stone, including staircases and post-tensioned stone beams, as well as the company’s computational design team, pushing to improve the use of digital tools and innovation throughout the practice.
