Overview

Join Greg Hardie, associate director at Arup, for an insightful talk on the regeneration of Castlefield Viaduct, a historic 330m-long Grade II listed structure in Manchester. Once a vital rail link to the Great Northern Warehouse, the viaduct has been unused since 1969 and has now been transformed into a vibrant urban park and community space.

This project included the structural assessment and strengthening of the original steel structure with minimal intervention, as well as creating new wildlife habitats and integrating eco-friendly measures like rainwater collection and LED lighting.

Please join us from 17:30 for networking and complimentary refreshments.

There will be an opportunity for questions from the audience following the presentation.

This event is organised by the ICE Manchester branch.
