Overview
The first public works project in Hong Kong adopting the NEC ECC dates back to 2009, in the midst of calls for incorporating partnering spirit into contractual relationships. Nearly one and a half decades later, there is an extensive use of the NEC ECC across both the public and private sectors, including the option X22 - Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) in NEC ECC. To embrace the spirit of collaborative working embodied in NEC, particularly with adopting option X22 - ECI in NEC ECC, it is vital that junior professionals recognise the key benefits of ECI and learn from industry experts to discuss their experience with the ECI application in Hong Kong public works projects.
In this seminar, speaker(s) will share their perspectives on the ECI application in Hong Kong public works projects. They will also give an overview of the ECI process, the key benefits of ECI, and advice to select a suitable form of ECI to maximise the project's interest. Furthermore, the main pitfalls of ECI and its associated risks will be shared and discussed. Panel discussion on challenges and opportunities encountered throughout the ECI implementation will also be covered towards the end of the seminar.
