Overview

Join Paul Jones, project manager from Environment Agency for a presentation on the Toronto Close flood risk management scheme in Worcester. Paul, currently seconded from Waterman Aspen, who will describe the development, design, construction and project management of the scheme to protect 26 residential properties and the people who live there.

Toronto Close, Worcester has a history of flooding from the River Severn and River Teme. During 2020 Storm Dennis, residents had to evacuate their homes due to potential flooding.

This £2.5m project has been undertaken by the Environment Agency working collaboratively with Worcestershire County Council and contractor Griffiths. The presentation will highlight key areas of the scheme such as the new flood wall, flood gates and the rebuilding of existing assets.

This event is a great opportunity for those interested in flood management.

This event has been organised by the ICE Hereford and Worcester Branch and is sponsored by Waterman Aspen.
