John Bourke

John is a principal structural engineer for Mott MacDonald in their Belfast office. He spent much of his early career in mainland UK working on projects in the oil and gas industry, defence and nuclear.

Whilst predominantly office based, his site experience has taken him everywhere from climbing ladders in gas power stations, to walking around redundant nuclear reactor buildings, inspecting the soffits of offshore structures, and driving on a live RAF runway.

Current projects include railways and bridges work. Working in a variety of different environments affords the opportunity and experience to assess risks and hazards both before and during the works.
