Overview
Sheffield is a civilised city and this virtual walk shows something of how this has been achieved. You will learn of buildings and structures, various forms of transport (road, rail, tram and water) and the bridges they need together with hidden essentials like water supply and drainage.
You will learn something about where they are and the stories behind these. You will see different materials being used in different forms - all designed and constructed by engineers applying science and using engineering principles.
Leaflets giving the basic details of this walking trail are available from the author or via Sheffield central library.
The event is part of Heritage Open Days 2021.
