Overview

The ICE is delighted to invite you to the first Resilience Community Forum: a cross-sector approach to scaling up adaptation finance, taking place online on 15 May 2025 from 2pm to 3pm.

The Resilience Community Forum

Our new forums have been created to bring members of the ICE’s core sustainable, resilient and nature-positive community together to explore key topics of mutual interest. These invitation-only events will be led and attended by senior experts and stakeholders, enabling meaningful discussion and input on ways forward.

A cross-sector approach to scaling up adaptation finance

The inaugural forum will be hosted by the community’s co-leads: Fiona Barbour, technical director (flood risk) at Mott MacDonald, and David Smith, independent sustainability consultant. The event will provide an update on the ICE’s work on resilience, including the progress of the British Standards Institution’s forthcoming PAS on climate adaptation pathways for infrastructure.

The forum will include a guest presentation by Katie Momber, senior programme manager at the International Coalition for Sustainable Infrastructure (ICSI), and Mark Crouch, decarbonisation discipline lead at Mott MacDonald, on the coalition’s recent report on scaling up adaptation finance.  This will be followed by a Q&A session.

ICSI’s new report outlines key insights and findings from their international consultation which focused on how to break down sectoral silos to scale up adaptation finance efforts. The report lays out clear recommendations for the engineering community, from developing cross-sector collaboration platforms to advocating for robust technical standards in climate resilience.

Please note that this is an invitation-only event run by the ICE’s engineering knowledge team and you are being invited as an industry leader. If you’re unable to attend and would like to nominate a colleague to participate, please inform Billie Donovan at [email protected]

Please register to attend by Tuesday 13 May.
