Overview

The event will cover the reasons why the consideration of temporary works is vital in the construction and demolition industry.

Here Andun will explore the history of temporary works, from historical failures to the Bragg Report and the introduction of BS5975 - Code of practice for temporary works procedures and the permissible stress design of falsework.

Andun will cover the importance of temporary works procedures and how they apply to construction projects including the roles set out in BS5975.

Finally, they will share case studies covering both temporary works and demolition engineering across the UK. This will include climbing tower cranes within a highrise building in London and the dismantling of dockside cranes.

Tea, coffee and sandwiches will be available from 17:30 with the event presentation starting at 18:00.
