Overview
The Transpennine Route Upgrade, or TRU, is a transformative, multi-billion-pound programme that will better connect passengers in the North of England, between Manchester, Huddersfield, Leeds and York.
The 70-mile main line serves 23 stations, crosses over and dips under dozens of bridges and viaducts, passes through six miles of tunnels, and crosses over 29 level crossings.
The programme is funded by the Department for Transport and delivered by Network Rail, through dedicated alliances and project teams. The TRU will bring frequent, faster, greener trains, running on a better, cleaner and more reliable railway.
This site visit will provide key insights into the TRU along with an exclusive tour of the Ravensthorpe site itself.
Please note that places are limited therefore early booking is advisable. On site parking and transport from train stations (Ravensthorpe/Dewsbury) are available.
All attendees are required to wear safety boots, a hard hat, safety glasses, gloves and orange hi-vis clothing. Upon registering we will contact you with further details and discuss any problems regarding the required PPE.
